Pressing Flowers in Seattle
Hello! Welcome to Black Botanical Press (BBP for short). My name is Hazel and I started this business out of a love for flowers and how they represent love and everything sentimental. I have been preserving flowers for almost 10 years and throughout that process I have learned the best techniques to preserve each flower with care. From roses to wildflowers, we love the feeling of opening a flower press to perfectly preserved blooms. We strive to provide the highest quality pressed flowers for our clients along with personalized attention to every order and a fast turn-around time compared to other companies.
At Black Botanical Press, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. This business was born out of a deep concern for the wastefulness of the wedding industry—something I witnessed firsthand during my years as a wedding florist. Seeing perfectly good flowers thrown away sparked a desire to do better, and that’s how Black Botanical Press came to life.
We use chemical-free, traditional methods to preserve flowers, honoring the natural beauty of each bloom without the use of silica or resin. Every flower is pressed and air-dried using handmade presses crafted from reclaimed wood, and we re-use pressing paper again and again to minimize waste.
All of our frames are either sourced from local, independent frame shops or are second-hand, authentic antiques—never mass-produced. When it comes to packaging and shipping, I repurpose packing materials from our own supply orders to avoid contributing to additional waste.
Sustainability isn’t just a checkbox for us—it’s a commitment. We strive to be as low-impact as possible in every part of the process and are always looking for new ways to reduce waste and improve. Your preserved flowers aren’t just a keepsake; they’re part of a more thoughtful, intentional way of honoring beauty without harming the planet.
We are local to Olympia, Washington but are focus on serving the entire Pacific Northwest. From Bellingham to Portland, San Francisco to Tacoma, Boise to Cannon Beach, we got you covered. We also take bouquets from all over the country by mail and love to receive bouquets from as far away as New York.
We would love to work with you and help you save your special blooms forever. <3
